Singapore Toto odds and prize groups explained

Updated 13 Oct 2026 · TotoLab

Every Toto ticket is a bet that six numbers from 1 to 49 will match the six drawn, plus one additional number. Here are the exact odds for each of the seven prize groups, what each group pays, and how System entries change the picture.

How a Toto draw works

Singapore Pools draws six winning numbers and one additional number from a pool of 49, twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays at 6:30 PM. An Ordinary entry costs $1 and covers one six-number combination. You win a prize if your six numbers match at least three of the six winning numbers; the additional number only matters for Groups 2, 4 and 6.

The current 6-from-49 format has been in place since October 2014. There are 13,983,816 possible combinations, which is the starting point for every figure below.

Odds are calculated exactly: the number of six-number combinations that win each group, divided into the 13,983,816 possible combinations. Groups 1 to 4 share a percentage of the prize pool equally among all winning tickets in that group, so the amount per winner depends on ticket sales and on how many people win. Groups 5 to 7 pay a fixed amount per winning combination.

Reading the table

System entries: more numbers, same odds per dollar

A System entry lets you pick more than six numbers. Singapore Pools then plays every six-number combination of your selection, at $1 per combination. A System 7 is 7 combinations; a System 12 is 924.

EntryCombinationsCostJackpot oddsChance of any prize
Ordinary1$11 in 13,983,8161 in 53.7
System 77$71 in 1,997,6881 in 32.3
System 828$281 in 499,4221 in 21.3
System 984$841 in 166,4741 in 15.0
System 10210$2101 in 66,5901 in 11.1
System 11462$4621 in 30,2681 in 8.5
System 12924$9241 in 15,1341 in 6.8

Notice what happens to the jackpot odds: a System 12 is 924 times more likely to hit Group 1 than an Ordinary ticket — because it is 924 Ordinary tickets. The odds per dollar spent do not change. System entries are a convenient way to buy many related combinations at once, and when you do win, overlapping combinations mean you often win several prizes together.

Snowballs and the minimum jackpot

The Group 1 prize is guaranteed to be at least $1 million. If nobody wins Group 1, the prize snowballs to the next draw. It can snowball for up to four draws; after that, an unclaimed jackpot cascades down to the Group 2 winners. Read the full explanation in our snowball and cascade draws guide.

What the odds mean for you

Toto is designed so that, across all players, less is paid out in prizes than is collected in sales. No combination is more likely to be drawn than any other — the 13,983,816 combinations each have exactly the same chance every draw. Tools such as wheeling can organise your numbers efficiently, but they cannot change these odds. Treat Toto as entertainment with a fixed budget.
